The Kentucky Black Sports Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization managed by the Buffalo Foundation. Headquartered in Georgetown, Kentucky, it was organized in 2009 by a group of concerned Kentucky civic leaders and sports aficionados in an effort to broaden the public awareness and understanding of the role African-Americans have played in the rich history of Kentucky sports. It also seeks to highlight the role of diversity and cultural tolerance in the growth of high school, collegiate and professional sports. It also seeks to provide education, social and career opportunities for youth through the efforts of the Buffalo Foundation. The cornerstone of the Kentucky Black Sports Hall of Fame will be history, freedom, education and culture.
